Just connecting on substack from hopeblooming! Moving is always bittersweet isn’t it? It’s packed with excitement about tomorrow yet sad about the goodbyes and losses.❤️

Hi Corinne - I didn't know you were on Substack.... I joined up a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying exploring it all. I've subscribed so I'll know when you're writing a new post - it's been fun meeting new people here. As far as packing up goes, I haven't had to pack up a house since 2009 - and when we do it next, it'll be to downsize - there will be a lot of culling and sorting I'm sure!

“Packing up and moving on is never easy, but often it’s the best thing for us to do.” Thank you for this thought! Blessings on you as you shred and pack….

Thanks, Julie. I loved the prompt and have pre-ordered Emily's book too!

Is this photo from the home you're packing up and leaving? It looks so cozy. I hope you can recreate that lovely little reading nook! It is hard, for those of us who get attached to places and things, to sort and toss and pack and move. I used to love moving when I was little. I'd get bored and long for a change of venue, a new community. Now, I want to live in this house until I die... :) I still long for new venues, but I am content to travel and to return HOME.

Closing down a house is like saying goodbye to a dear friend. A friend who has shared your memories, your secrets, your life. Hugs to both of you.
